It is usually caused by MIDI data in the Midi Loop that is not part of the K2000 System Exclusive data. MIDI real time data such as Active Sensing and Timing Clocks are sent all the time by some keyboards, midi switches or other devices. If these get mixed into the "loop" for communication with the K2000 the error listed occurs. Also, if two devices on the MIDI buss respond to the System Exclusive messages (i.e. they have the same MIDI System Exclusive ID address) you will get this error. Do the following and if still have a problem, call me at home (505-281-2194) (well - first pay the $20) Remove all MIDI Devices except PC and K2000. Connect only the following cables K2000 Out --> PC Input selected in K2000 open dialog box K2000 Input <-- PC output selected in K2000 open dialog box This should cure the problem. if not try a hard reset on the K2000 (be sure to back it up to floppy or its own hard disk first!!!) If the above works, add back MIDI stuff until it fails, then you found the source of the duplicate MIDI device number or the Real Time MIDI data. Try changing the System Exclusive ID of the K2000 to something other than 0 and change the Open K2000 config dialog box to match the new ID. ------------------------------
