Free Kurzweil Program (patch) Libraries
Download programs (patches) from the K1000.net website. Many programs donated by many Kurzweil users and many programs supplied in RAM (deleted if you reset your expander or keyboard) and programs that were supplied in older or newer versions of the products. Also, download the library of patches for all Kurzweil 1000 series instruments - free. This WinZip file contans all the patches that were included in the many varieties of Kurzweil 1000 series instruments - including the first versions of the 1000PX, GX, HX, Pro, Etc. Some of the patches were removed from ROM as Kurzweil upgraded the instruments and included their 'better' patches. Many users were somewhat frustrated by the loss of their favorate patches when they upgraded. Not to worry, all the old and new patches are in this library. You can load any of the files in the library into the RAM of you 1000 instrument. For example you can load the trombone patch from the HX module into you K1000 keyboard. Of course it will not sound like a trombone because the K1000 does not have the trombone sample. However, you can edit the patch to point to one of the horn samples in the K1000 and get a 'sortof' trombone. Download the sample library now and have some fun with new sounds. You will require some type of librarian (Kurle or one of the other legacy librarians - or better yet Kurlewin) to load the patches into your 1000 series instrument's RAM using the MIDI interface. The library is provided free with the permission of Kurzweil. The zip file extracts into a folder named 'Patches' with subfolders for each instrument. Check out the file SndsInfo.txt (in folder Patches) for details about the library.
